The Music Publishers’ Prize has been awarded since 2003 to pay tribute to Swedish songwriters, composers and lyricists.
Fanny Avonne received two awards at the gala, for Composer of the Year and Song of the Year. The latter was for “Use Me!”, written with Olga Myko, the artist who released the song.
Robyn was named Lyricist of the Year. “Who could have imagined that in 2026 we would be dancing to songs about breastfeeding, IVF and a single mother’s tribulations in getting laid?” the citation says.
The songwriting duo Valter Nilsson and Johan Weber received the Breakthrough of the Year award. It was previously announced that songwriter Monica Forsberg would receive this year’s honorary prize. Among other things, she wrote the lyrics for “Dag efter dag” by Chips and Carola’s “Främling”, which won Melodifestivalen in 1982 and 1983, respectively.
