The Swedish star is nominated for Breakthrough Artist of the Year in the pop category, among others. She has been delivering hits for many years, but it was only in the past year that Larsson enjoyed exceptional chart success and became a celebrity to a broad American audience.
Larsson is also nominated in the categories Collaboration of the Year ("Stateside" with Pink Pantheress), Viral Song of the Year ("Lush Life"), Breakthrough Album of the Year ("Midnight Sun") and Summer Song of the Year ("Stateside").
Taylor Swift leads the nominations with eight.
The AMAs will be hosted by Queen Latifah and take place in Las Vegas on May 25.
