The decision comes after the German e-commerce giant commissioned an external investigation following allegations that its packaging materials are linked to the logging of forests worthy of protection.
"We do not purchase products directly from SCA, but after this investigation was completed, and after further internal and external dialogue, we have made the decision to phase out SCA materials in our packaging products," Zalando told the newspaper.
In November last year, Nestlé said it would phase out wood raw materials from forestry companies involved in "controversies" in northern Sweden.
