SMHI is warning of sudden ice slippage in parts of northern Sweden on Tuesday. This is due to rain that can freeze into ice when it falls on cold road surfaces.

The warning is in effect between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m. in the coastal areas of Norrbotten County, and between 12 p.m. and 9 p.m. in parts of Västerbotten, Jämtland and Västernorrland counties. There is a risk of delays and cancellations in public transport, according to the weather authority.

"Drive carefully and adapt your speed to the road conditions. Allow more time for your journey," SMHI writes on its website.
