At home against Benfica, the Barcelona youngster, now 17 years and 241 days old, first set up Raphinha for the 1-0 goal after a solo run. Then the Spanish national team star himself scored the 2-1 goal in the 3-1 win as Barça advanced to the quarterfinals.

Swedish left-back Samuel Dahl played the entire match for Benfica. The Portuguese were eliminated overall with 4-1 in the round of 16 after Barcelona's 1-0 win in the first leg in Lisbon last week.

Swiss player Breel Embolo was 17 years and 263 days old when he scored a goal and made an assist for Basel at home against Ludogorets in November 2014, according to the European Football Association's website, and held the record before Yamal.

Bayern München had a 3-0 lead from the home match in the all-German round of 16 against Bayer Leverkusen.

It was also a win and a shutout in the return match away, 2-0 after goals from Harry Kane and Alphonso Davies in the second half. A superior FC Bayern thus advanced to the quarterfinals with a total score of 5-0. There, they will face Inter, who eliminated Feyenoord with a total score of 4-1 after a 2-1 win at home in Milan on Tuesday evening.

The quarterfinals will be played on April 8 and 9, with return matches a week later.
