Inah Canabarro Lucas was born on June 8, 1908. She became a nun at the age of 26 in 1934 and has previously attributed her high age to God.

According to Longeviquest, an organization that documents and confirms lifespans among the world's oldest individuals, Inah Canabarro Lucas is the fifteenth oldest person ever – and the second oldest nun.

The French nun Lucile Randon died in 2023, 118 years old. The oldest ever, Jeanne Louise Calment, also French, was born in 1875 and died in 1997, 122 years old.

The title of the world's oldest person is now passing to the 115-year-old British woman Ethel Caterham.
