Thompson ran the 100 meters in 9.75 seconds during a competition back home in Jamaica this summer. It's the fastest time at that distance since American Justin Gatlin ran 9.74 in 2015.
When Kishane Thompson stands on the starting line in Sätrahallen on January 22, it will be only his second indoor competition of his career, the organizer states in a press release.
Thompson won World Championship silver in the 100 meters in Tokyo last year and in 2024 he won Olympic silver in Paris.
