The competition will be played August 13–23, 2026.
"That the event is coming back next year is extremely important for the development of the sport in Sweden, and gives us the chance to inspire the next generation", says Swedish Table Tennis Association's CEO Thomas Buza.
That Europe Smash 2026 would be played in Sweden was clear before, but now WTT announces that the world tournament will once again be arranged in Malmö.
Europe Smash is now one of four Grand Smash tournaments on the table tennis world tour, and this year's edition was the first time a Grand Smash was played in Europe.
The competition was played in August in Malmö, and Truls Möregårdh then became a historic winner as the first European to win a Grand Smash title.
In the final, Möregårdh won against Chinese world number one Lin Shidong with 4–3 in sets.
