"Both the driver and the co-driver were able to get out of the car on their own. Both are conscious, are doing well under the circumstances and will be taken to hospital," writes the Toyota GR team on X.

Ogier was leading the rally when he went off at high speed, flipped several times and went straight into the forest, Yle reports. The 17th special stage had to be interrupted as a result of the crash.

"I hope everything goes well with them after such a terrible crash. It's disgusting to see," says Swede Oliver Solberg, according to Expressen.

After a short delay, Saturday's final stage was able to be run. Solberg is in second place heading into Sunday's finish. Finn Sami Pajari is leading.
