Aryna Sabalenka from Belarus is moving on in the US Open after defeating Australian Priscilla Hon, 6–3, 6–3.
The first set was a straightforward story as the world number two won without having to save a single break point. In set number two, Sabalenka was somewhat more pressured and lost her serve once and was close to being broken several times in addition to that.
In the end, however, the 26-year-old last year's finalist, who is one of the favorites to win the title, managed to ride out the storm. In round two, she will face Lucia Bronzetti from Italy.
