The world's number one in tennis, Polish Iga Swiatek, announced on Thursday that her new coach will be Belgian Wim Fissette.
"I'm extremely excited and look forward to working with Wim. He seems to have a fantastic attitude, vision, and enormous experience at the absolute top level in tennis," writes Swiatek on Instagram.
Fissette has a solid coaching career. He has, for example, been a coach to several former world number ones, such as Victoria Azarenka, Simona Halep, and Naomi Osaka.
Swiatek, with, among other things, five Grand Slam titles and an Olympic Games bronze from Paris in her baggage, announced a couple of weeks ago that she and coach Tomasz Wiktorowski had chosen to go their separate ways after three seasons of cooperation.
