"I have no words. I'm out of words," Charaeva said on DAZN's broadcast after the match at the China Open.
Rybakina started the match well, taking the first set. But then Charaeva was able to turn the tables and win the final two sets. The 24-year-old, who plays for Armenia, won the match 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.
"She (Rybakina) is a great player and is having a great season. This is a dream come true. Never stop believing, guys," Charaeva said.
Rybakina, who competes for Kazakhstan, won the US Open in September and then overtook Aryna Sabalenka in the world rankings to become number one.
