Sinner has ended his season early due to a knee injury, the Italian announced on Tuesday.
"I have decided with the doctors that I need treatment for my knee, which means the 2026 season is officially over. But I have to think about my career in the long term," he says in a video posted on social media.
The five-time Grand Slam winner has not played since winning Wimbledon in July.
Jannik Sinner will now miss, among other events, the Masters 1000 tournament in Paris in early November and the ATP Finals, which will be held in his home country at the end of November.
