"Several of our active athletes are in the midst of World Championship preparations and choose to opt out of the competitions in Italy. This also applies to Jonna Sundling, Emma Ribom, and Moa Ilar, who plan to compete in the Swedish Championship in Borås instead", says national ski team manager Anders Byström in a press release.
This is the second consecutive World Cup weekend that Frida Karlsson and Linn Svahn will be absent.
After sustaining a foot injury just before the start of the season, Karlsson has been competing cautiously this winter.
All in order to be at the top for the World Championship in Trondheim in a month.
On the men's side, Marcus Grate will not be participating.
"He is back in training after a cold, but chooses to focus on the Swedish Championship and the World Cup in Falun instead", the association writes.
However, Johanna Hagström is making a comeback in the World Cup after a training period at home.
The program in Cogne includes double sprint competitions, team and individual, as well as a 10-kilometer race.
