Shortly after this summer's World Cup, several media outlets reported that Elliot Stroud was on the verge of leaving Listerlandet for Premier League newcomers Hull. But the deal dragged on, and Stroud has played five games for Mjällby since the World Cup.

Tuesday's 1-2 loss to Slovan Bratislava was his last.

"When an opportunity like this comes along, you have to take it," Elliot Stroud says in a press release.

Hull will pay Mjällby around SEK 27 million, plus bonuses, for Stroud, according to Expressen. The contract is for four years with an option for a further year.

Hull will face Manchester United in the Premier League opener on August 22.
