A goalkeeper faking an injury so that outfield players have the opportunity to talk tactics with the coach is prohibited during the World Cup.
"The goalkeeper has the right to be injured, but the other players are not allowed to leave the field for a kind of timeout with their coaches," says former referee and FIFA refereeing chief Pierluigi Collina, according to the BBC.
The World Cup referees will ensure that the rule is followed, but no disciplinary action will be taken against players who go and talk to their coach.
Other new World Cup rules, which will be used during tonight's international match in Oslo, include a ban on players covering their mouths when talking, giving VAR greater powers, and measures to speed up the game.
