A fire has broken out in a concrete silo filled with wood shavings at an industrial facility in Kvillsfors, Småland, three miles east of Vetlanda.
The alarm was raised at 5:30 pm and it is a larger fire with open flames. The rescue service is on site with multiple units and estimates that the extinguishing work will take a couple of hours, says Linus Maxe, commanding officer at the police region East.
No people are believed to have been in the vicinity of the industrial area and there are no suspicions of crime.
The fire is believed to be isolated to this building and the risk of spread is not considered to be particularly high. The smoke is also not considered to be hazardous, says Linus Maxe.
