In August last year the woman called the police. When officers arrived, they found an elderly woman dead at the address. The investigation later showed that the mother had been strangled to death - but no motive for the act was ever found.
A forensic psychiatric examination showed that the woman suffered from a serious mental disorder at the time of the crime. She has admitted killing her mother but denied responsibility, citing her mental state.
The sentence will be forensic psychiatric care with a special discharge assessment.
