The fatal accident occurred on the night of June 6th outside the central parts of Gävle. A 27-year-old woman and three passengers were in the car when it went off the road and collided with a tree. The car was reportedly driven at over 150 kilometers per hour on a road with a 70 km/h speed limit.
Gävle District Court finds that the driving "involved a deliberate risk-taking of a serious nature," and convicts the woman of two counts of aggravated manslaughter, aggravated bodily harm and gross negligence in traffic. She is also convicted of driving without a license.
