A woman threw a knife into the chest of a man in Vänersborg – her former partner. She is now sentenced to ten years in prison for attempted murder, reports TTELA.

The incident took place in the spring and began with the woman smashing the window on the patio door to the man's residence with a stone, while he was sleeping on the sofa.

The woman then entered the residence and threw a knife into his chest. The man was not seriously injured, however, and the woman fled out onto the street in a panic when she discovered that a third person was in the residence.

The incident was preceded by two calls from the woman to SOS Alarm, with warnings that she would soon be in a violent situation.

She has admitted to having thoughts about murdering the man, but no actual plans to do so.

In addition to attempted murder, she is also convicted of gross disturbance of the peace and theft.
