The incident occurred in an apartment in Norberg at the beginning of the year. According to the indictment, the woman died as a result of extensive violence, including severe injuries to the head and body.
The accused woman denied the crime during the trial.
"This is a violent and ruthless act directed at an elderly and weakened person in her home, and it was also carried out by a close relative on whom she depended to cope with her daily life. The murder therefore justifies life imprisonment," said the court's chairman, Chief Councilor Thomas Lindstam, in a comment.
