A woman in her 40s is being prosecuted for attempted murder after she tried to strangle a child, reports Värmlands Folkblad.

It was in July this year that the child itself sounded the alarm about the incident, which occurred in Karlstad. According to the indictment, the woman should have taken a stranglehold around the child's neck twice, which, among other things, led to the child bleeding from the ears.

The woman, who has been detained since July, denies the crime.

A so-called section 7 investigation has previously shown that it can be suspected that the woman suffered from a serious mental disorder at the time, reported NWT in August.
