The murder is suspected to have been committed in Hällefors municipality in December 2024. At that time, the woman was reported missing and a preliminary investigation into kidnapping was initiated. However, the woman's body was not found until March 15. She was found dead, wrapped in a sleeping blanket.
"The police have conducted a thorough investigation that shows her partner was the last person to see the woman alive. We have extensive technical evidence and many interviews that support the finding that the man is the perpetrator," says District Attorney Carolin Tengroth in a press release.
The man is suspected of murder and trespassing.
