The woman was found on Thursday morning and taken to hospital, but her life could not be saved.
The police cannot rule out that she was the victim of a crime and have therefore opened a preliminary investigation into a serious crime, reports Nya Wermlands-Tidningen.
The police also cordoned off a residence, which is not the woman's, on Thursday and conducted a technical examination.
