A woman in her 70s has died after being hit by a car in central Köping.
She was out walking, says Linda Winge, police officer.
The incident occurred just before 4 pm on Boxing Day. The woman was taken to hospital where she died from her injuries.
The driver of the passenger car, a man in his 30s, was arrested later after fleeing the scene. He is suspected of gross negligence leading to another's death, gross reckless driving, driving under the influence of drugs, and unauthorized departure from the scene of an accident.
He will be questioned this evening. Then, a physical examination will be conducted based on the suspicions of drug-related driving, says Linda Winge.
