An elderly female patient died at the hospital in the summer of 2023 after a nutritional drip was inserted incorrectly.
The drip was supposed to last for twelve hours - but the employee allegedly set the infusion pump to only one hour. When the alarm went off, the same person allegedly restarted the pump without checking the cause of the alarm.
The incident led to the patient developing a fat clot in her lung and to her death.
The employee admits to the sequence of events but denies any wrongdoing.
