A woman is dead after a fire in a villa in Vänersborg.
Two people were in the house when the fire started in the morning and one of them was able to get out on their own.
The rescue service later found a deceased woman on the premises and according to the police, the circumstances are such that a crime cannot be ruled out. An investigation into murder and arson has therefore been initiated.
A man who was taken to hospital in connection with the fire is arrested and detained, suspected of murder and arson.
The police's investigative work is now continuing with door-to-door inquiries and technical examinations. A forensic examination will also be conducted.
