The extensive fire broke out at the end of July. It started as a stove fire in an apartment, but quickly spread throughout the building. A total of 36 apartments were destroyed in the fire.
The smoke was heavy and an important message to the public (VMA) was sent to residents in central Hudiksvall to go indoors and close doors, windows and ventilation.
A woman has now been charged with reckless endangerment. She told the investigation that she was frying potatoes but forgot to turn off the stove, writes Hudiksvalls Tidning .
The woman says she went into the living room, but was only there for a minute or so before she heard the smoke alarm go off. Then the apartment filled with smoke.
She called SOS Alarm before leaving the house.
