The wolf, which the police feared was hungry, moved during the week on Falsterbonäset and was seen on Wednesday evening closer to Malmö, also near playgrounds and schools.
It was people who tried to chase it at Lindeborg sports ground. When we get there, it is stressed and in connection with that, it attacks a dog, says Thomas Paulsson, duty officer at police region South, to Sydsvenskan.
It also entered residential areas and therefore the police finally received an order to shoot it.
We have tried to get permission to shoot a tranquilizer dart, but then we were told that it is no longer used. This was the last resort, unfortunately, says Thomas Paulsson to TV4 News.
The wolf will now be taken care of by the county administrative board.
