The County Administrative Board in Norrbotten granted protective hunting after reindeer herders in Vittangi Sami village found more than 30 dead reindeer and fresh wolf tracks last week.
On Sunday, a wolf was shot from a helicopter.
P4 Norrbotten reports this is the third male wolf shot in Norrbotten this season.
Previously shot wolves have been Finnish-Russian, but where the wolf shot this time came from is not yet clear.
