The County Administrative Board in Västra Götaland has decided on a protective hunt for a wolf in the municipalities of Götene, Skövde and Skara.
Recently a cow has been killed by a wolf in the area, according to a press release.
“The County Administrative Board assesses that the risk of further attacks is great, and that there are no other suitable measures in the short term to prevent it. The protective hunt is not considered to jeopardize the species' favorable conservation status,” the County Administrative Board writes.
The hunt may be carried out by the hunters selected by the County Administrative Board and may be carried out at the latest by June 25.
