"They are probably a week away from having industrial-grade materials to make bombs," Witkoff said on Fox News, likely referring to Iran's enrichment of uranium to levels that could be used to produce nuclear weapons.
"It's really dangerous," he adds.
The statement comes as the US tries to pressure the Iranians to agree to a new deal on the country's nuclear program. At the same time, the US is mobilizing a large number of aircraft carriers and fighter jets in the region.
According to Witkoff, President Donald Trump is wondering why Iran has not yet bowed to US pressure.

"He's curious about why they haven't... I don't want to use the word "capitulated," but why they haven't surrendered."
