A wind turbine at a landfill in Kungshamn in Sotenäs municipality is on fire, according to P4 Väst.
The rescue service is on site, but is primarily trying to ensure that no one is hit by burning parts flying through the air from the wind turbine.
The motor of the wind turbine is on fire, so we are on site and trying to extinguish the parts that fall to the ground, says Fredrik Johansson, alarm and command officer at the rescue service, to TT.
According to Fredrik Johansson, the wind turbine is located in a remote area – there is no danger to the public. Currently, there is no risk of spread assessed.
The area is isolated and the fire is not that extensive, says Fredrik Johansson.
