The 19-year-old Canadian, world No. 9, wrote on social media that she injured her left knee when she slipped and fell in her singles match against Karolina Pliskova in Queens.
"Unfortunately, I suffered an MCL injury (a ligament injury) when I slipped and, sadly, I will miss the rest of the grass season. Unfortunately, that also means Wimbledon, which I had been looking forward to," she wrote on Instagram.
Mboko had to withdraw from Queens after the injury, which meant it was also the end of the season for comeback American star Serena Williams, 44. They had won their first match in Queens.
