The player organization NHLPA has in its annual survey posed a number of questions to 663 players in the NHL. Almost all questions are hockey-related – except one. And there, one of the few Swedish players gets a top ranking.
According to their fellow players, Toronto star William Nylander – 45 goals scored so far this season – is the third most stylish player in the league. He gets 12.9 percent of the votes. Only Boston's David Pastrnak and Nylander's club colleague Auston Matthews have a style that stands out more.
The league's top skater is Edmonton's Connor McDavid. He gets a full 66.41 percent of the votes, but some like Jesper Bratt. The New Jersey Swede gets 1.88 percent and is ranked as the league's fifth best in the category.
Superstar McDavid is also seen as the undisputed top forward. That's what 73.89 percent of the players think.
The smartest player if the players themselves get to choose? Pittsburgh's veteran Sidney Crosby, with 27.02 percent of the votes.
Crosby is also seen as the most complete player (33.81) while Colorado's Cale Makar is valued highest among all defensemen with 71.78 percent. Here, Victor Hedman, Tampa Bay, comes in third with 5.74 percent.
For the seventh year in a row, Bell Centre in Montreal is voted as the arena with the best ice.
