The day before the Olympic opener, Tre Kronor trained - without William Nylander. A safety measure, according to national team captain Sam Hallam.

Tre Kronor will face host nation Italy tomorrow, Wednesday, in the Santagiulia Arena in Milan and held a lunchtime training session today, during which their big star was absent.

The reason for the forward's absence is said to be a twinge.

He needed some treatment today. He's had two full ice sessions with us. We're taking it day by day. A safety measure, says national team captain Sam Hallam, according to Aftonbladet.

The Toronto forward was injured just before the championship but managed to play three NHL games before the Olympics and has scored 52 points (18 goals, 34 assists) so far this season.
