NHL star William Nylander showed his middle finger on TV. Now Nylander is apologizing. "Sorry for today's moment of frustration," he writes on Instagram.

However, the action may have consequences.

According to NHL journalist Chris Johnston, the league is reviewing the incident and may discipline Nylander.

It was during last night's 4-1 loss on the road to Colorado that television cameras swept over Toronto's injured players in the stands, and Nylander appeared to point his finger at the camera.

The Toronto star is remorseful about what happened.

"Sorry for today's moment of frustration! It wasn't meant to upset anyone. I look forward to being back on the ice soon, instead of up in the stands."
