William Eklund Undergoes Ankle Surgery, Expected to Miss 10-12 Weeks

NHL forward William Eklund is expected to be out for 10-12 weeks. The Ottawa player has undergone surgery on his ankle, the league says on its website.

The Swede was injured at home against Philadelphia on October 8 after being tackled into the boards.

He has now had surgery for a torn tendon in his ankle, and the 24-year-old is expected to be out of action for 10-12 weeks.

Eklund joined Ottawa this season after several years in San Jose.
