The wife of Iran's late ayatollah has died of injuries she sustained in this weekend's attack, Iranian state media reported, according to AFP.
Mansoureh Khojasteh Bagherzadeh was 79. She was married to Ali Khamenei for more than 50 years but played a largely behind-the-scenes role while he was the supreme spiritual leader of Iran's Shiite Islamist regime.
Bagherzadeh was injured in Saturday's bombings in Tehran, which killed Ayatollah Khamenei. She was subsequently in a coma until her death, the Iranian Tasnim news agency said.
