Wictor Petersson will visit the National Arena in Tokyo twice. The Swede is ready for today's final in shooting. It was stable, he says.

21.02 in the first attempt and 21.14 in the second – then it was clear. The shot putter Wictor Petersson will thus have to turn back to the national team's hotel in Tokyo, rest and then head back to the arena later today to compete for the medals in the World Championship in athletics.

I didn't need to push anything, but just repeat previous results I had in my body, he says.

I prefer to have the final on the same day. You're already going and so on.

The Swede had the fourth longest throw in the qualifying round. Now he hopes for longer in the final.

There's more in my body. My body feels good, my head feels good. I feel ready. I just need to go home and sleep and eat.

However, his colleague Jesper Arbinge was forced to leave the arena injured.

Unfortunately. I knew I had a feeling in my chest muscle, it was struck and just got worse. In the second attempt, it really struck and after that it was over.

The 28-year-old was seriously dissatisfied with having gotten injured.

I feel like I'm disappointing so many, including myself. My family, my club and everything... This was my third championship and I still haven't made it happen.

The shot put final in Tokyo will be decided today at 14.10.
