The stage machinery at the Gothenburg Opera needs to be replaced as part of a more extensive modernisation of the opera. Introducing the new technology will therefore take more time than previously estimated.
"We want to be able to give the audience the spectacular experience that Wicked is," says CEO Christina Björklund in the press release.
Ticket buyers will be offered rebooking or a refund. A new premiere date for “Wicked” will be announced later.
