The news site Axios is simultaneously reporting, citing several sources, that President Donald Trump is considering a specific military operation against Kharg Island to pressure Iran to open the Strait of Hormuz.
"The US military can put the island of Kharg out of action at any time if the president gives the order," Trump's press secretary Anna Kelly wrote in response to AFP questions about Axios's information.
