President Trump and his national security team continue to work with Russian and Ukrainian officials towards a bilateral meeting to stop the killing and put an end to the war, said an anonymous White House official to the news agency AFP on Friday evening.
The comment came after French President Emmanuel Macron warned that Donald Trump is being "deceived" by Vladimir Putin.
According to Macron, Trump has set Monday as the deadline for Russia to agree to a meeting.
If it does not happen by Monday at the latest, the deadline set by President Trump, it means that President Putin has once again deceived President Trump, said the French leader.
