The plan was for CNN to accompany the president to Tennessee on behalf of the joint media pool. However, according to the White House schedule, neither CNN nor any other media organisation in the pool will be covering the trip.
Trump decided last Friday to ban CNN, Politico and MS Now from the White House for their “persistent reporting of fake news.” A federal judge has overturned the decision, but the media outlets are still encountering problems when trying to get into the White House.
In a post on Truth Social on Saturday, Trump defended the decision to shut out the media and questioned their access "to such a sacred place as the White House."
