In Boden, after-tax income increased by an average of 6.4 percent between March 2025 and March 2026. This gives Boden first place in the country. On average in the country, income increased by 3.5 percent, according to figures from Statistics Sweden, which for the first time reports individual-based statistics on disposable income per month.

Skellefteå is at the bottom, with a decline of 0.6 percent.

"It's mainly due to the closure of battery manufacturing," says Peter Gärdqvist at Statistics Sweden in a press release.

The municipalities with the highest incomes are Danderyd, Täby, Lomma, Nacka and Lidingö. At the bottom are Högsby, Ljusnarsberg, Haparanda and Gullspång, among others.
