At the Beijing Olympics four years ago, Frida Westman finished 16th in the normal hill. But the 2026 Olympics did not go well for the Swedish ski jumper.

Westman felt it was a failed jump and covered her face with her hands when she landed. 87 meters and 94.8 points meant that something sensational would have to happen for her to place among the top 30 who advanced to the final jump. A moment later, that proved true.

I think I'm getting too eager on the edge - and that's not doing me any good, says a clearly dissatisfied Frida Westman to TT and the others in the Swedish press corps on site.

I'm jumping a little too aggressively. I'm very disappointed. It's hard to accept that it turned out the way it did.

She finished 42nd out of 50. Now she will instead aim for revenge on the big hill, on February 15th.

Anna Odine Strøm of Norway took the gold.
