The plan was to run the relay at 2 pm in the afternoon after the organizer postponed the start by one and a half hours, but now the message comes that today's race is being postponed to 2:30 pm.

At 1 pm, the message also came that the men's World Championship team competition in Nordic combined is being cancelled.

The competition was supposed to start with ski jumping and followed by cross-country skiing. Both the men's and women's team competitions will now be decided on Friday.

An orange warning for storm winds was issued for Trondheim ahead of Thursday and forecasts showed that it would blow up to 26 meters per second in gusts during the morning and early afternoon.

The World Championship arena Granåsen was opened to the public only after lunchtime.

Despite the strong winds, there are "no visible damage to the facility or on the tracks", reports the news agency NTB.

The quartet Truls Gisselman, William Poromaa, Jens Burman, and Edvin Anger will run for Sweden in the relay, which covers 4x7.5 kilometers.
