After two years of poor harvests, the significantly better situation is welcome, according to farmer-owned Lantmännen.
"Today, at the beginning of July, it looks like we are heading for a good harvest at the level of or just above the ten-year average. But we would have needed larger volumes for the profitability of the arable farming enterprises", says Per Germundsson, grain manager at Lantmännen Lantbruk, in a press release.
A mild winter and relatively little precipitation made a record-early spring cultivation possible.
"The growth has since varied depending on temperature and precipitation, but it generally looks positive in many places in the country", says Per Germundsson, who however reminds that it is a forecast and that the weather can still cause trouble.
