The American President Donald Trump's announcement about tariffs on steel and aluminum had no negative impact on the Stockholm Stock Exchange. The steel manufacturer SSAB rose 3.3 percent.
Only three stocks in the OMXS30 index, which lists the most traded stocks, closed on minus. Among the winners were Saab, up 2.2 percent, after the major bank SEB raised its recommendation for the defense manufacturer's stock. The best performers in OMXS30 were the heat pump manufacturer Nibe and the real estate company SBB, which climbed 3.0 and 2.8 percent, respectively.
Among the smaller companies, NCC released its annual report, where the construction company proposes an increased dividend to shareholders, but after an initial rise, the stock fell 2.5 percent.
Cloetta announced on Monday morning that the confectionery company is scrapping earlier plans to build a new factory in the Netherlands. The stock rose 2.9 percent.
The indices on the leading European stock exchanges rose, with the FTSE 100 in London increasing nearly 1 percent.
