Several of the leading indexes on Asia's stock exchanges recovered somewhat in Friday's early trading after yesterday's dip.
In Tokyo, the Nikkei 255 index was up 0.5 percent at lunch local time, while the broader Topix index pointed to a plus of 0.6 percent.
In Hong Kong, the Hang Seng was down 0.1 percent at the same time.
Shanghai's composite index was down 0.3 percent, while Shenzhen stood at a plus of 0.9 percent.
The major tech giants in the US fell sharply on Wall Street on Wednesday and trading remained volatile on Thursday. Some analysts have expressed concerns about a possible AI bubble.
